Hot New Scores for Oregon Pinot: Purple Hands

Hot off the press this morningPurple Hands scores another round of fantastic reviews from Wine Spectator Insider, well deserved if you ask us. 93 points for the $23.35 Lone Oak Ranch Pinot noir and 94 points for Latchkey Vineyard Pinot noir, both available here today. They've not been published in Spectator's database yet so we recommend you move quickly -- as soon as the rest of the wine world finds out, these will be gone!

Purple Hands' Cody Wright has been in a wine cellar his whole life. He's had big shoes to fill; he is the son of quite possibly the most famous Oregon winemaker. We think he's doing an excellent job making a name for himself and creating his own voice in Oregon wine.

Purple Hands Lone Oak Ranch Pinot noir 2016

$23.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
($25.95 regular)
93 points Wine Spectator Insider: "Elegantly spirited, with bright cherry and spice aromas and plushly complex raspberry and brown baking spice flavors that linger on the polished finish. Drink now through 2024."

Future Wine Spectator Top 100 alert: this has all the makings of a wine that could make it on the 2018 list. A blend comprised of Purple Hands' six vineyard sites -- Freedom Hill, Holstein, Kropf, Latchkey, Stoller, Shea -- Lone Oak Ranch is ebullient with its mixed cherry and raspberry fruit accented by caramel and spice (this note was written months before the WS review, so it appears we have good/similar tastes). It is drinking well right out of the gate, especially with a couple swirls of aeration. An Oregon Everday Pinot Noir wine club selection. - Marcus

Purple Hands Latchkey Vineyard 2016
$44.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($49.95 regular)
