Highly Rated Weekend Pinots

Fall has arrived in the valley. Grapes have begun their journey to wine. And we're ready for some weekend wine enjoyment!

What better way to kick things off than a trio of Pinots that are drinking beautifully. Fresh off stellar reviews from The Wine Advocate, longtime Avalon Pinot champs Goodfellow and Ayres gift us with Friday and Saturday night gems. And when it comes to Sunday dinner, treat yourself with Le Cadeau. Anointed by the critics, enthusiastically endorsed by your very own Willamette Valley Pinot experts (us). Cheers to your weekend!

Goodfellow Family Cellars Durant Vineyard Pinot noir 2015

$39.55 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
($43.95 regular)
94 points Wine Advocate: "a very pretty nose of rose petals, violet and spice over a core of dried cherries and cranberries plus earthy notions of fresh tobacco, underbrush and autumn leaves. Light to medium-bodied, it's packed with juicy red fruits flavors, spice and floral perfume, with a great frame of grainy tannins and freshness to lift all that flavor, finishing very, very long. 216 cases produced."
We've tasted this a couple times recently and it is drinking wonderfully well. Depth, energy, balance - it's all here and more. A superb, old vine vineyard in the Dundee Hills, Durant sits among some of the most famous sites in the valley: a stone's throw from the original Eyrie Vineyard, below White Rose, and adjacent to Domaine Drouhin and Archery Summit. - Us

Ayres Lewis Rodgers Lane Pinot noir 2016

$33.25 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($36.95 regular)
93 points Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Pinot Noir Lewis Rogers Lane is scented of crushed blackberry and blackcurrant with loads of spicy accents like lilac, cardamom, tree bark and potpourri. Light to medium-bodied, it has a great concentration of spice-laced ripe black fruits in the mouth, with a good frame of grainy tannins and juicy, mouthwatering acidity, finishing on a perfumed dusty earth note. 251 cases produced."
Ayres continues to knock it out of the park. Our favorite Ayres bottling several years in a row, Lewis Rodgers Lane is estate grown, Ribbon Ridge Pinot noir, delicious and might we add, humbly priced. It bursts with wild berries and fresh summer black cherries, underscored by savory earth tones. - Us

Le Cadeau Cote Est Pinot noir 2016
$44.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
($49.95 regular)
94 points Wine Spectator: "Silky, expressive and showing effortless complexity, with raspberry, orange zest and spiced cinnamon flavors that take on richness and depth on a lingering finish. Drink now through 2024."

Brimming with delicious red fruits, showing fresh and savory through the persistent finish, Cote Est is pure silk and is already drinking beautifully. I see no reason to delay gratification. 183 cases made. - Marcus
