95 points Vinous, Antonio Galloni: "Deceptive in its light-bodied color, the 2015 Barbaresco Ovello packs a serious punch. Dried flowers, mint, pine, herbs, crushed berries and chalk add striking top notes. I very much like the wine's sense of energy. In other words, this is classic Ovello Barbaresco built on laser-like focus and real nobility. It will appeal most to readers who enjoy structured wines that develop gradually with many years in bottle."

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Violet, star anise, woodland berry and camphor aromas lead the way on this elegant, firm red. The savory, linear palate delivers juicy Marasca cherry, pomegranate, licorice and orange zest while taut, fine-grained tannins provide support. It's focused and balanced, with fresh acidity. Drink 2021–2030."

Us: I tasted this from cask in 2018 and it was spectacular then. As I often do, I find plenty of early appeal in it though it will definitely reward a little or a lot of cellar time

$69.25 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($76.95 regular)

97 points Vinous, Antonio Galloni: "Tense, brilliant and finely sculpted, the 2016 has so much going on. Crushed flowers, iron, mint and cedar add beguiling aromatic breadth to a core of translucent, intense Nebbiolo fruit. The 2016 really captures the energy that makes wines from this site so distinctive. The 2016 was fermented in stainless steel and aged entirely in cask."
