Felsina's Holy Grail: 96+ point Rancia

From before I set foot on Felsina's soil, staring in awe at the Tuscan countryside from the ruins of the Rancia farmhouse, I considered their wines my holy grail of Sangiovese. Little has changed over the years; Felsina has remained one of my favorite wineries in the world. Today we offer two of their monumental 2013s: Rancia 2013 (arriving in less than a month) and Maestro Raro, an equally compelling wine that is quintessentially both Cabernet and Tuscany.

Felsina Chianti Classico Rancia Riserva 2013
$39.55 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($43.95 regular)
96+ points Vinous, Antonio Galloni: "Fèlsina's 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia bristles with energy, with veins of underlying acidity that give the wine its focus and drive. Dark red cherry, plum, rose petal, herb and licorice are some of the signatures. Most of the Fèlsina Chianti Classicos are defined by their dark fruit and savory notes, but the Rancia is also wonderfully bright and lifted from start to finish while staying very much true to the house style. Today, the Rancia gives the impression it will unwind at a glacial pace. I imagine most bottles of the 2013 will be drunk before the wine truly enters its prime."
Pre-arrival, ships September 1.
In my opinion, Rancia more than rivals its neighbors in Montalcino. An epic, classic wine each vintage. - Marcus

Felsina Maestro Raro Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
$55.75 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($61.95 regular)
96 points Wine Advocate: "A beautiful wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Maestro Raro showcases the best of Tuscany and the best of this grape. This Cabernet Sauvignon offers a determined load of black fruit followed by a long array of subtle detailing with spice, leather and bitter chocolate. You also get balsam herb, crushed mineral and a touch of green olive. The wine offers a stunning level of fullness and complexity with softly layered and fine tannins that caress the palate."
Classically Cab and also classically Tuscan. In a recent comparative tasting of Washington and Napa Cabs, this out-showed the competition. Definitely built for long-term aging, this gem will shine with 4-6 years or more in your cellar. - Marcus

We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Thanks for your support!
