Double 97s for Roserock Zephirine 2019

The Drouhin family helped bring international fame and credibility to Oregon's wine scene when they established Domaine Drouhin in 1989. Decades later, Drouhin's purchase of Roserock vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills in 2013 is the newest chapter in Drouhin's storied legacy. Roserock continues to shine today with the release of 2019 Zephirine Pinot noir, complete with double 97s!

Quantities are significantly reduced from past vintages so it is high time to move.

97 points The Wine Advocate: “The Zéphirine is so expressive this vintage! Matured for 14 months in 20% new oak, it has a pure fragrance of blueberries and lilac, aniseed and earth, gaining aromatic nuance and depth with time in the glass. Medium-bodied, the palate begins with bursts of acidity and a flourish of spices that glide seamlessly through the mouth for an incredibly persistent, floral finish.”

97 points James Suckling: “Redcurrant, sour cherry and smoke on the nose. Hibiscus, too. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and lively acidity. Vibrant and juicy on the palate with a bright core of redcurrants and dried herbs. Layered and balanced, with a long, savory finish. Very vertical and deep. Drinkable now, but best from 2023.”

$44.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($49.95 regular)

"The 2019 Chardonnay from Domaine Drouhin Roserock is absolutely stunning, and I simply can't put it down. It explodes with singular scents of fenugreek, sage and dried flowers streaked with graphite, and it glides across the palate like satin, an integrated tang drawing out lemongrass-like accents that add a touch of exoticism to this cuvée. It finishes with extraordinary length." -The Wine Advocate

Us: The above note accompanies a 99-point score from The Wine Advocate. Yup, we kinda buried the headline but there isn't much to offer. Have at it.
