We don't make special trips to the Valley to taste any old value Pinot. But Colene Clemens Dopp Creek is anything but. Given its track record the last four vintages, Dopp Creek has firmly established itself as one of the best values in Willamette Valley Pinot noir. So we drove straight to the winery to discover the 2018 is absolutely packed with goodness. Like the other 2018s we've been tasting, this is going to blow the doors off!
Colene Clemens Dopp Creek Pinot noir 2018>$26.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($29.95 regular)
The '18 Dopp shows beautiful, dark boldness and concentration then a bright streak of red Pinot electricity. I'll bet a bottle that when you taste it you're going to say "wow, that's a ton of Pinot for the money!" I taste a ton of Pinot, and that's exactly what I said. A big, dark fruited nose, a huge amount of flavor, great length and lift, with a warm spice note lending depth.
"Dopp Creek represents the broadest combined expression of our Estate, and embodies our most approachable and versatile wine. Engaging from the moment you pop the cork, rich red fruit and savory herbs lead to a mouthwatering palate of dark fruit and baking spice, with juicy, supple structure supporting it through a clean finish. This wine drinks impressively now, but having a few bottles in the cellar for four to six years won’t hurt!" - the winery"
