Barolo Deal and More!

We love Friday's that begin with a surprise Barolo deal. Sordo's Barolo 2015 landed on our tasting table with a big 93 from Wine Spectator and a rocking/little bit shocking price. We had to taste it for ourselves and sure enough, an excellent deal in Barolo, ready for your dinner table. A 93 point Wine Spectator Barolo, around $30? A total rarity that you should jump on. Only 7 cases available so get going!

Giovanni Sordo Barolo 2015$31.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($34.95 regular)

93 points Wine Spectator: "High-toned mint and orange zest aromas give way to strawberry and cherry flavors in this elegant version. Firm and balanced, adding iron, tobacco and tar details on the long finish. Best from 2023 through 2042."

Us: Our only quarrel with the note above is that this is near pop-and-pour tasty already, definitely something that, with a quick decant, is ready for dinner. Yum!

The first batch of the Super Tuscan super value, Tolaini Al Passo, sold out in 48 hours. A new batch arrived yesterday so have at it! If you've dabbled even a little bit in Italian reds or if you're just a serious bargain-hunter, this is a no-brainer. Grab 6, 12, 24–you'll be stoked to have this on hand whenever the meatballs, pizza, or pasta demands it. Load up!

Tolaini Al Passo Toscana 2017$19.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($21.95 regular)

Us: A delicious, outstanding value, it's so easy to love because of the perfect blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet, and Merlot in equal parts.

94 points James Suckling: "A beautiful, ripe wine, offering plums and chocolate, as well as tile and walnuts. It's full and layered with beautiful fruit and caressing tannins. Rock on."

92 points Vinous: "Open-knit and pliant, with soft curves, the 2017 offers tons of immediacy. Cedar, tobacco, dried herbs and macerated cherry all meld together in an inviting, mid-weight Tuscan red to drink over the next decade or so."
