Bargains of the Year: Washington Reds

While there's a couple months to go before the end of 2019, we're ready to proclaim our bargains of the year in Washington reds.

If you haven't already loaded up on these, the time is now. If you're ready to re-stock, do it. And don't miss our universally recommended Cab-blend favorite below, either!

Still crazy value alert!

$19.75 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($21.95 regular)

Our friend who sells high-end Napa Cab all over the country tasted it blindly and we asked him to guess the price. His first words, "this tastes expensive." Then, "$18 a glass, easy." His eyes nearly popped out when we told him it's less than $20 a bottle.

This Cab, Merlot, Petit Verdot blend rocks, hard. And it's classy, too. It's delicious when you first crack the bottle -- the dreamy Horse Heaven Hills black cherry goodness will not be denied -- and holds up surprisingly well over a couple days.

We're getting re-orders of this left and right!

$179.99 for a 6-pack ($29.99/bottle)

Save 40% when you buy 6, $50/bottle regular
While we wish it weren't so, our friends at Alexana have phased out their Washington wine program, including one of our favorite Washington Bordeaux blends of all time, Gran Coeur. At its original $50 price, we love it, we recommended it without reservation. In order to help the remaining Gran Coeur find happy homes, we're offering 40% when you buy a 6-pack of Alexana Gran Coeur 2015! It's a slam dunk for $29.99.

Holy ___ we love this wine! Beautiful, mesmerizing fruit grabs your attention: first blackberry, then black cherry and black currant, adding mocha, cedar, and spice accents. There's an elegance, balance and silkiness, which is evident from first sip and all the way through the richly expressive finish that fans out and keeps giving. Already gushing, this is equally outstanding as a wine for your next dinner party as it is for the cellar. 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Petit Verdot, 15% Merlot and 15% Malbec. - Marcus

Okay, this isn't a bargain, but it's so flipping awesome and has been hot on re-orders, too! We universally recommend it. How's that for an endorsement?

$58.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($64.95 regular)

Us: Completely, totally a wine that any/all Cab fans will love. Doubly awesome (see below). Perfectly dark and lush cassis accented by tobacco and bittersweet chocolate, with tannins so silky that they're buried within the overall beauty. Opened Friday, it was gorgeous and fresh Sunday evening, when I couldn't help but finish the bottle.

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "It’s a total blockbuster based on 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. Crème de cassis, blackberries, toasted spices, cedar, and forest floor notes all emerge from this deep, rich, opulent red that has sweet tannins, a thrilling texture, no hard edges, and a monster finish. This is another best-to-date from this estate and it’s an awesome wine."
