Baer Malbec: So Good It Stands On Its Own
Today's wine wasn't supposed to be made. Man are we glad it was!
We're no strangers to the rockstar wines that come from the cellar of Washington's Baer winery. Their 2013 Malbec is a first -- typically blended into their flagship, Ursa, it was so good it needed to stand on its own.
And trust us, it does.

The Baer 2013 Malbec was originally intended to serve as a blending component for Ursa, Baer's much-celebrated flagship wine.
While assembling the 2013 Ursa, Baer's cellar-master noticed that every time he opened the Malbec barrels for their monthly topping up, intense aromas of blackberry pie and cracked black peppercorns filled the barrel room. He knew the 2013 Malbec was a special wine that should stand on its own; he proposed that they bottle it separately. The Baer team agreed and Baer Malbec was born.
