A Top 5 Oregon 2015 Pinot

You know that we don't believe in scoring the wines that we sell. There's far too much conflict of interest to even dabble in those murky waters.

When we taste a wine that smashes most of its peers, that positively blows our minds, we have to find another way to communicate just how deserving of your attention it is.

We tasted that wine yesterday afternoon. It left us speechless and mesmerized. Even within the context of the fantastic 2015 vintage, it's on another plane. For both of us, unquestionably, it is in our top 5 Oregon Pinots of the vintage. Here it is:

Goodfellow Family Cellars Heritage #4 Pinot noir 2015
$59.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($65.95 regular)
In the most literal sense, awesome. Captivating, alluring, stunning. Conveying Pinot noir's paradoxes of rich density without weight, of sweetness and ineffable savoriness, this complex and dynamic young wine pulses with a beautiful heart of red fruits, joined by flourishes of spice, herb, floral, orange and so much more. A joy to sip now, especially if opened and savored over the course of a few days, it will enjoy a very long life in the cellar should you choose to wait 5, 10, or 15 years. This magical wine is made from the old vines of Whistling Ridge Vineyard. - Marcus and Andy

"The Heritage series of wines represent our version of Grand Cru: the best rows, the oldest vines. Over the past few years I have become increasingly driven in retaining the clarity and nuances of the wines and the vineyards they come from. Seeking flavors that are not fruit based, and developing a belief that the truly amazing secondary aspects to Pinot noir are savory based. Elegant and powerful, showing the depth for cellaring and a nuanced interplay of savory and sweet, these are the wines I make to leave for my sons." - Marcus Goodfellow

We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Thanks for your support!
