99 points Wine Advocate: "...the sensational 2014 Block 1 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up all in new French oak. It's an extraordinary Cabernet from Washington that will easily stand up to the first growths of Bordeaux in a blind tasting. Tobacco leaf, blackcurrants, toasted bread, lead pencil and spice are just some of the nuances here, and it's full-bodied, silky and seamless on the palate, with a fresh, clean, elegant style that just begs to be drunk. Nevertheless, I suspect it will put on weight with another 2-3 years of cellaring, and see its 20th birthday in fine form." SHIPPING SEPTEMBER 1.
We could write more notes but with the demand outstripping the supply, maybe we'll leave it at "this Cab is pretty good." Seriously, tasted over four days, this baby is going to be a stellar wine for your cellar. It is also half (or less) the price of its similarly reviewed Napa cousins. - Marcus
And a tiny secret stash of 2014 L'Orage resurfaced. Act very quickly if you want some...very!

Sheridan L'Orage Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

96 points Wine Advocate, the best L'Orage to date: "a seriously good, hedonistic, pleasure bent beauty that does everything right. Cassis, leafy herbs, smoke tobacco, lead pencil shavings and incense notes all give way to a full-bodied, decadent, sexy red that has the concentration and depth to keep for 10-15 years. It tastes like a blend of Pontet Canet and Shafer Hillside Select."
2014 is the 14th vintage of L'Orage I've tasted. Unequivocally, with zero exaggeration, the single best L'Orage is the 2014. Unparalleled in its sexiness and velvety rich texture, the beautifully supple layers of black and red fruits, purple flowers, a finish that fans out with creamy mocha, tobacco and licorice. As impossible as it is to resist today, it's every bit as good after being open for twenty four hours, which bodes well for its age worthiness. I will be stunned if this doesn't receive a massive score (fast forward using my wine review time machine -- it did!) but you know what? It won't matter, because I guarantee you will love it. - Marcus
