98 Points, The Highest Rated Casteel Pinot Noir!
Another 2019 Pinot release, another not-so-subtle headline: the highest rated Bethel Heights Casteel Pinot noir ever! We've loved Casteel Pinot since the first vintage (2002); the '19 adds a new dimension of elegance. No doubt that's part of the reason it received a massive 98 points from The Wine Advocate.
As much as Casteel Pinot sings in 2019, Bethel Heights' Aeolian joins the chorus—it's a level of refinement we've not seen in previous vintages and once again, a major factor in its 95-point review.
Now that we've delivered all the great news, the challenging part: 2019 Casteel production was so tiny that we've created a Bethel Heights 6-pack: 3 bottles each of Casteel and Aeolian Pinot noirs. 2019 Casteel is available only in the 6-pack—thank you in advance for your understanding! You can load up on Aeolian 2019 and for those who enjoy 375ml bottles (splits!), grab a bunch of 2017 Estate Pinot noirs 375s.

98 points The Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Pinot noir Casteel is powerful and expressive, with structure and perfume that promise a long life in the cellar. It explodes with aromas of black and blue berries, dried flowers and licorice, plus a singular streak of saline-like character. The medium-bodied palate is silky and seamless, with extraordinary floral perfume, layering and length."
Us: While typically defined as much by its power as by anything else, what makes the 2019 Casteel shine is its exceptional elegance. It is a new dimension and a new level of brilliance from Ben Casteel. Bravo!

95 points The Wine Advocate: "Alluring scents of blood orange, tea leaves and earth with wild berries and Angostura-like accents. Silky and fresh, it flows across the palate with detailed floral flavors and finishes long and layered."
Us: Named for the winds that define Bethel Heights estate, Aeolian 2019 also shows enhanced refinement, a silkiness not felt in previous vintages. You gotta love 2019! Beautiful black cherry with tea and cedar accents, loaded with energy—that push-pull, churning, utterly captivating aspect of vibrant young Pinot noir.

An exceedingly rare and highly enjoyable 375ml bottle size, this is drinking superbly well right now.
91 points Wine Spectator: "Poised and structured, with expressive black cherry, forest floor and stony mineral accents that build toward fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2025."
