98 Point, World-Rocking Red

I tasted a wine Friday that completely rocked my world. Fans of kickass Washington wine: this is an absolute must-have.

98% of the time, I know about a wine's score before I taste it; I take my research seriously. But somehow I missed the review for Substance Klein Bx 2015 that was published last week by Jeb Dunnuck, formerly of The Wine Advocate and now wine critic at large, a guy who I've found really "gets" Washington wine.

When the first words I write are "whoa yeah!," I mean serious business. Ultra impressive, mouthcoating and voluptuous, this Cab-heavy red blend had me shaking my head and saying aloud, "this is crazy good -- there's no way anyone would not love it!" Then I checked Jeb's reviews and found that we're in total agreement. Combine his 2-points-from-perfection score and my unconditional recommendation and I think we've arrived at something special. I urge you to get it.

($74.95 regular)
98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Deep purple-colored, with a thrilling bouquet of crème de cassis, toasted spice, graphite, and dried tobacco, this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, building yet sweet tannins, flawless balance, and a finish that goes on for over a minute. This is a tour de force in Bordeaux blends from Washington State that I wish every reader could taste. It's already accessible, with a sexy, flamboyant personality, yet it's going to keep for two decades given its balance and purity." 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Franc

We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Thanks for your support!
