97 point Barbaresco and More: Cantina del Pino

Happy Friday Italian wine fans!

We're really excited about the new releases from Cantina del Pino, a winery we've followed for years and had the good fortune to visit twice. Perched atop Ovello Vineyard just outside the village of Barbaresco, Cantina del Pino's affable and talented Renato Vacca is at the top of his game, evident in the stellar wines already in Oregon.

And then there's the 2013 Barbaresco Ovello on its way from Italy, which on Wednesday grabbed a huge 97 point score in Wine Spectator Insider! It's due here in November but will be sold out way in advance of that -- today, to be specific. Lock yours in today!

Cantina del Pino Barbaresco Ovello 2013 -- arrives November 13
$53.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($59.95 regular)

97 points Wine Spectator: "A pretty, firmly structured red, with delicate flavors and subtle power, this evokes floral, red berry, mineral, tobacco and tar aromas and flavors, remaining harmonious and long on the mineral- and tobacco-tinged finish. Best from 2020 to 2036."

Cantina del Pino Barbaresco 2013
$35.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($39.95 regular)

An impressive balance of elegance and structure, showing enough pretty fruit to sink your teeth into and plenty of spice, tobacco, and menthol complexities. Decant for 1-2 hours and serve with hearty fare if drinking now; best with a couple years of cellar time. - Marcus

Cantina del Pino Dolcetto d'Alba 2015
$16.15 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($17.95 regular)

This wine is so delicious right now! Always one of our favorite Dolcettos because of its beautiful aromas, adding super-inviting cherry and plum accented by licorice and subtle spice notes which glide with freshness and vibrancy. Fantastic food wine that'll become a staple on your table. - Marcus

Cantina del Pino Barbera d'Alba 2015
$21.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($23.95 regular)

Another tempting wine for early drinking (tonight, perhaps), this elegant and velvety Barbera gives up dark plum and juicy cherry alongside mint, mineral and cocoa accents. Set out a plate of cured meats and some crusty bread, crack a bottle, and saluté! - Marcus

We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Thanks for your support and have a great weekend!
