97, 96 point Syrah from Washington and Tuscany

Happy Friday!

Huge new scores for tons of Washington reds published yesterday by critic Jeb Dunnuck. We're still sorting through the 27 pages of reviews but a couple wines immediately caught our eyes: K Vintners MCK 2016 and Avennia Arnaut 2016, 96 and 97
points respectively, and a couple of our favorite Syrahs year in, year out. MCK is one seriously fantastic value; it's always the quickest of the K Syrahs to sell out. Make sure to scroll to the bottom to find the incomparable, "total stunner" Isole e Olena Syrah, which we've been excited about since tasting it at the winery in September. Another 97 pointer, this time from our our go-to Italian wine critic, Antonio Galloni. Here's to a great weekend!

K Vintners MCK Syrah 2016
$35.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
($39.95 regular)
96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Coming from the highest point in the Boushey vineyard and a mix of Syrah clones, the 2016 Motor City Kitty Old Field Boushey Vineyard was fermented all in concrete and brought up in neutral oak. Game, olives, white pepper, and darker fruits all emerge from this Côte Rôtie look-alike. With medium to full-bodied richness and a layered texture, it's one of the greatest values out there, so if you see a bottle, you should buy it."

Avennia Arnaut Syrah 2016
$57.55 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($63.95 regular)
97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "This deep ruby-colored effort is as silky and seamless as it gets, offering loads of black raspberry, blackberry, smoked earth, spice, and hints of chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, ultra-pure, and impeccably balanced, it's a beautiful wine from Chris to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years."
And from Tuscany, the phenomenal...

Isole e Olena Syrah 2015
$53.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
($59.95 regular)
97 points Vinous, Antonio Galloni: "The 2015 Syrah is a total stunner. Bright, polished and impeccably nuanced, the 2015 is all class. Here, too, the purity of the flavors is simply remarkable. Today, the 2015 is quite primary and in need of at least several years in bottle to be at its very best, and yet all the ingredients are there for that to happen. A touch of whole clusters and drops of Viognier add an attractive floral upper register. Stated simply, the Syrah is a wine of precision and class. Only Paolo De Marchi can make Syrah of this level in Tuscany."

We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Thanks for your support!
