95 Point Pinots Hot Off The Press!

The Wine Advocate's annual Oregon report hit today and naturally it's filled with high scores for a bunch of our favorite wineries' top wines. We've barely made it to page two but here are our picks from the 95 pointers, a who's who of longtime
Avalon champions: Arterberry Maresh, Eyrie, Goodfellow. They are all spectacular wines with our enthusiastic seal of approval. Grab 'em!

Goodfellow Heritage No. 10 Whistling Ridge Pinot noir 2017
$59.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($65.95 regular)

95 points Wine Advocate: "Marcus Goodfellow says, 'The numbering is all specific to a time and place, so you won't see another no. 10.' Pale to medium ruby, the nose of the 2017 Pinot Noir Whistling Ridge Heritage No. 10 blossoms to fresh currants, tar, Earl Grey tea leaves, dried flowers, mushroom and warm earth with an undercurrent of mineral notions and spices. The medium-bodied palate slowly reveals nuanced flavor layers, with very finely grained tannins and seamless freshness on the very long, layered finish. Beautiful! Give this another couple of years in bottle or cellar it - this has the structure and flesh to age very well in bottle."

$62.05 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($68.95 regular)

95 points Wine Advocate: "I'm really happy with this wine," Jim Maresh says. "It's one of the earliest-drinking vintages of the Maresh vineyard I've ever made. I like it better than the 2016, although the 2016 will age longer without a doubt. The 2017 is a bit more tender and succulent." The 2017 Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard is a delicate wine without losing any intensity, scented of fresh tobacco leaves, underbrush, potpourri, peppercorn, citrus peel and saline with a core of cranberries and wild blackberries plus touches of dusty earth and crushed stone. It blossoms unexpectedly in the mouth, medium-bodied, concentrated, spicy and fresh, softly framed with a long, layered finish. A lovely wine."

$67.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($74.95 regular)

95 points Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Pinot Noir The Eyrie has a medium ruby-purple color and pretty nose of violet, dried hollyhock, prosciutto, leather, blueberries and boysenberries with red currant, oolong tea leaves and earth aromas. It’s medium-bodied and ultra silky with gobs of perfumed fruit layers, a very finely grained frame and mouthwatering acidity, finishing long and perfumed. Yes!"

$67.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($74.95 regular)

95 points Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Pinot Noir Daphne Vineyard has a nose of red currants, dried cranberries, red cherries and blueberries with accents of tree bark, salami, Earl Grey tea leaves, violet, dusty earth and peppercorn. Medium-bodied and silky, the palate offers intense, perfumed fruits with a finely grained frame and fantastic freshness calling you in for another sip, finishing long and floral. This is so beautiful!"

$44.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($49.95 regular)

95+ points Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Chardonnay Dux Vineyard has an open nose of crushed stone, dried hay, tarragon, roasted hazelnuts, citrus blossoms and spring honey with notes of sliced mushrooms and a light framing of spice. Medium-bodied and silky, it gives layer after layer of ripe, spicy fruits refreshed by tangy acidity, finishing very long and minerally with tremendous tension. I can't wait to taste this with a few years of bottle age!"
