In a mere handful of vintages, Maison Bleue has established as one of the hottest hands with Syrah and Grenache. This fantastic value 2012 is loaded with dark berries accented by Provencal herbs and mouthwatering meaty, peppery notes. Drinking excellently now, with plenty of life ahead of it. Arrives Friday 1/15.

Here's what the critics said:
92 points Wine Enthusiast: A blend of Syrah (70%), Grenache (25%) and Mourvèdre (5%), this tantalizing wine offers a near endless list of aromatic descriptors, from white pepper to smoked meat, currant, mineral, licorice, coffee and dried herbs, seeming to evolve with each swirl. The palate is layered and rich with plum, pomegranate and lingering dark fruit flavors.

Rand Sealey's Review of Washington Wines, 19/20: A blend of 70% Syrah, 25% Grenache and 5% Mourvèdre. Deep ruby colored, it possesses intriguing aromas of boysenberry, blueberry and cassis, with scents of black roses, mulberry, brambles, garrigue (lavender and Provençal herbs), and spiced incense. On the palate, the medium bodied flavors are tasty and fruit forward, intermixed with licorice, cocoa powder, black tea and minerally earth. On the back, the wine turns chewy textured, with notes of squeezed berries, grilled meats, blueberry preserves and crème de cassis, followed by a lingering ripe tannin finish that is accented by cinnamon bark and a light grinding of pepper.
