Mo Ayoub's wines continue to turn heads. Including ours.

We want you to know about my two favorite Ayoub 2009s -- Pinots that belong in your cellar. They are easily two of the most age-worthy wines we've tasted from the 2009 vintage.

Ayoub Wine - 2009 Ayoub Pinot noir

Ayoub Estate Pinot noir 2009 -
$49.50 in any 12 bottle order ($55.00 retail)
The elegant...the classy...Ayoub's Estate Pinot noir is quintessential Dundee Hills: refined, silky, seamless. Open up the 2009, try it over several hours, and it's like a jazz quartet trading fours -- pretty red fruit on tenor sax, the melange of spices, orange essence, and maple on piano, structure on bass, and minerality on drums. All have their flourishes, their moments of brilliance, that build in intensity and take you back to the top.

While this fantastic Pinot noir is starting to show well now, its complexity is better suited to drinking on day two or three, or cellaring for a few years.

Ayoub Brittan Vineyard Pinot noir 2009 -
$40.50 in any 12 bottle order ($45.00 retail)
Boisterous and big in personality, the Ayoub Brittan immediately won me over (hence its selection as a Reserve Pinot Club wine). Stretching out in all directions, you get wild berries from the vine that absolutely burst, with an underlying earthy minerality. Like the Estate, this needs room to breathe and when it does, the whole wine becomes more polished without sacrificing an ounce of the fun, nervy exquisiteness. We recommend cellaring for at least three years. Only 200 cases made.
